We have gone to an online licensing process using Binti. You will be required to have a valid email address to apply for a child foster care license to create an account to start the initial licensing process.
Please write down your log in information somewhere safe where you can find it. You will be able to save your progress and log in and out. This will also be your log in information when it comes time to renew and to upload any training certificates you acquire during the year.
Our goal, barring any roadblocks along the way, is to have a home licensed within 60 - 90 days. That does depend on how quick the applicants get their paperwork completed, required training completed, references are completed and on DHS processing the background checks.
If you have started the process and there has been little to no movement, at 45 days you will be contacted to see if we can answer any questions or help in any way. You will also be sent a letter with a list of items that are still needed and a deadline to get them completed. If that does not happen, we will look at withdrawing your application due to inactivity and/or lack of communication.
If you have signed up but have not signed an application or any other paperwork, a staff member will reach out to see if we can answer any questions or help in any way. If there is no response or no paperwork filled out within 45 days, you will be notified that your account will be moved to the in-active file but will be available if you ever change your mind.
